Since 2006, Ryan has served in ministry, where he started in youth ministry and whole-heartedly worked to see students meet Jesus on their level. At Element, Pastor Ryan is committed to put brokenness on display every single week to help people take their next step with Christ.
He and his wife, Kim, enjoy building Element together. Kim faithfully serves behind the scenes and is passionate about serving and caring for Element's amazing volunteer team. I believe that the church is the hope of the world and that when the church meets people in the middle of their mess, just like Jesus does, we will see people go from death to life.
When I was a senior in high school I began attending a local church. Jesus motivated me like nothing else ever had, and by the end of my senior year I was voted most changed in my class. I went to church every Sunday for 2 years, but because of some life choices, I stopped attending church for 4 years. Finally, at age 24, I decided to get my act together and going back to church was part of that plan. To my dismay, I had struggled to find a church that accepted where I had been the last 4 years, who I was, and helped me focus on my desire to follow Jesus. In my search, I ran into Ryan Blaylock who mentioned he was about to launch Element and encouraged me to be a part of the launch team. I had no idea that God would lead me to quit my full-time job and fundraise my salary as the kids ministry director at Element!
Because of my life choices, I never imagined that I would be on staff at a church. Especially a church that I love and has helped me take my steps. I relate to what David says in Psalm 40 “He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire; he set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand.” God is full of grace, love and mercy, and He wants to do amazing things in and through you. He wants to take you out of the instability of this life and give you a firm foundation in Him. No matter who you are, where you have been, or how long it’s been since you’ve last been inside a church, there is a comfy seat at Element just for you.
